for many decades that the scuba sport WAS a "male" sport and the men overwhelmingly were indeed "macho" acting. The problem is this is still stereotyping. I personally know women who are scared to death of the water and total misfits when it comes to scuba diving. Whenever anyone ( including these so called bigoted experts ) say that one group is better or inferior to the other , this is indeed bigoted, sexist, and prejudiced. I have seen many women who are totally confused and disoriented underwater, but I am not going to stereotype "women" in general because to "paint" all women or even men with such a "broad brush" does a dis-service to both groups.
