Richard Neely's tear-jerking GBR $110k night dive...

I sincerely hope that before publicists sell Richard and Allyson's tear-jerking account of their tragic dive that someone examines the facts of the dive very carefully.  Knowing the combined amount of experience of this couple, their careful preparation, the thick exposure suits and hoods, the full water bottle carried for a 60 minute dive, the dive site, their inability to use basic signalling procedures when the boat was at hand (no doubt we will witness this on the video it is claimed they took of each other as the boat steamed away abandoning them).

I like many others in the industry will be amazed to find any fault by any one other that those who planned a very expensive night dive. It is obvious to an outsider that if a diver chooses not to use his surface marker buoy (SMB) also known as a safety sausage, it is very difficult for a boat to spot them.  In fact they can make their escape to open water being almost invisible, no matter how hard a boat lookout searches for them. Not to worry we are assured by press reports that Richard says DAN will cover the costs of his $110K night dive while he collects hundreds of thousands selling his story to the gullible media in the US and UK!

Bah and humbug!
