	Why no outrage when divers were destroying Sipadan?... Melissa - AOW/Geologist May 22, 2006 at 21:10:39 If all the media attention to the recent damage at Sipadan kills government plans to build tourist facilities there, then it's certainly a blessing in disguise.  Having said that, the damage done to the island and its reefs by divers over the years was a thousand times worse by comparison. Yet the same dive industry insiders who are now screaming about damaged corals at Sipadan couldn't find the courage to criticize the dive industry when it was the commercial engine driving the destruction.
