Shark finning vs shark feeding...

Sheila Peterson - Master Diver/Telecommunications
February 20, 2005 at 11:08:49

As an avid diver who has interacted with sharks both during organized feeding sessions as well as in the course of normal dives, I do not see feeding them as a threat to their existance. On the contrary, I even believe that these encounters may encourage people to learn more about sharks and to consequently become involved in protecting them. I know it did in my case.

Why don't we focus instead on the millions of sharks that are lost every year to the cruel practice of finning? Now THAT is a true danger to the shark population.
