Isn't that a fundamental contradiction?  You stated that you discussed this accident at length with both her instructor and buddy and yet you also say you don't have any information to offer.  Why not?  For example, I am wondering which training dive the instructor was leading when Shari Booth disappeared. Was it the deep dive?

Knowing all of the details would certainly help but often scuba diving accidents do not get reported at all and when they do, there is always a lack of detailed information.  That should not stop concerned divers from speculating about what happened and pointing fingers if they think somebody was at fault or proper safe diving procedures were not strictly adhered to.

Whether or not such speculation and finger-pointing contributes anything positive to relatives of the victim is an open question.  Sympathy will also not bring Shari Booth back.  But understanding what happened and what caused her death could help prevent others from becoming victims.
