It is unethical to teach children to dive--I will not do it...

We know that scuba diving can have a negative impact on human physiology even when there are no external signs of injury. That's why scuba diving is forbidden for pregnant women.

I remember when SSI launched Scuba Rangers targeting the 8 - 12 year olds at DEMA 2000 and everybody wet their pants with excitement.  "Get 'em early" PADI said before they drift off into other sports.

But scuba diving is not like other sports and until we know more about how it affects the developing bodies of children, we should not be teaching children in order to "grow the scuba diving market".  It is unethical to teach children to scuba dive and I will not do it.
