Can I drive to 3,000 ft altitude after scuba diving in Hawaii?

Just wanted to find out what i should do...I will attend 2 dives: first ~60ft reef dive. after a few hours break, will dive to ~40ft (nightdive Manta watch). second dive will end around 7:30pm.

Next day in the morning i will have to drive from Kona to Hilo around 7am. i checked on the altitude map that i will get close to 3000ft high around Waimea.

So this is within the range of 18 hours (in fact 12hrs) that i should not take a flight or go up on a mountain.  What would you say about driving max up to 3000 ft after 11-12 hours under these circumstances?

Any opinion? I am aware of what the book says. I want to find out, I have to leave in the morning and would that be too risky?
