Re: CDNN: Search resumes for missing NZ scuba diver, sport fishing such as scalloping is work and air consumption is much faster than regular diving. We often collect scallops off Oregon  and California and it is normal that bottom time will be 2/3 or less that of normal. When determining reserve air for surfacing including safety stop after scalloping, one should begin surfacing with more air than they would if on a normal less exercise dive.  The death of the young New Zealand women is a terrible and very sad event, and it gives me stomach butterflies to think about it.
