We often collect scallops off Oregon and California and it is normal that bottom time will be 2/3 or less that of normal. When determining reserve air for surfacing including safety stop after scalloping, one should begin surfacing with more air than they would if on a normal less exercise dive. The death of the young New Zealand women is a terrible and very sad event, and it gives me stomach butterflies to think about it. |
