Guess I'll have to stop diving in T-minus___years...

R Lait - Instructor / Engineer

Just read the article "CALIFORNIA - Donald Sutherland: 'Scuba diving almost killed me'"

This is the most nonsensical article that I have read in quite a long time.

The indicates that one should not go SCUBA diving after the age of 50. Where are the supporting facts for this? Why are there numerous active certified instructors over the age of 50? (Instructors are required to carry liability insurance, and the insurance providers and/or SCUBA Diving Agencies require instructors to have up to date medical sign-offs. )

It is too bad that Mr. Sutherland was hurt, and it is even worse that his doctor did not initially take a proper history when he made his first diagnosis.

This article would have better placed in the Sun, the Globe, the World Weekly News.  At least there the level of fact checking would have matched the diagnosis.

Guess I'll have to stop diving in T-minus ... years.
