SCUBA DIVING INDUSTRYPowered by CDNNThe global scuba diving industry encompasses three primary business sectors including diver certification, scuba equipment and dive travel.
The industry is comprised primarily of dive centers that employ experienced divers certified by more than a dozen agencies as instructors and divemasters who teach scuba diving courses and lead dive groups on guided dives. Several hundred companies design, market and sell scuba diving equipment including regulators, dive computers, buoyancy compensators (BC), masks, fins, snorkels, wetsuits, drysuits and accessories.
Dive travel now encompasses dedicated dive resorts located throughout the world, liveaboard dive boats that offer onboard accommodation and as many as five dives per day, and all-inclusive "dive & stay" resort packages that include all scuba diving. |
