Sandals not all bad...Mignonne - AOW/Physician
November 17, 2007 at 13:41:15I was certified at a Sandals and the instructor was very safety-conscious, and we felt in good hands all the time.
I have dived at 3 Sandals resorts and also at non-resorts. The Sandals Antigua operation (earlier this year) was the sloppiest I have encountered. No head counts, instructor/divemaster sharing air instead of stopping the dive, etc. One instructor/divemaster was very good -- she would do her own head counts, check everyone's tank, equipment etc even if the person officially in charge didn't. The whole operation was loose, though -- they let us dive twice before checking our certification. We'll dive with them again (it's a lazy, easy way to go) but will be sure to look out for our own safety. And we always have safety sausages..
