October 26, 2007 at 08:15:19Horrible to hear about this scuba diving accident but I give credit to Sandals for immediately firing everybody who failed to safeguard the resort's
customers. You would never get that level of corporate accountability from small dive shop operators around the Caribbean and elsewhere because when they screw up, they are not going to fire themselves. I also love the Sandals "diving included" holiday standard and hope that other major resorts around the world will follow suit. If you check the Sandals web site, you will usually find one or two of their 12 resorts offering half-price deals that cover all your scuba
diving. So you get to stay at a world-class luxury resort and dive off a world-class dive boat and you know what? That sure beats staying at a crummy, third-rate diver hotel and diving with one of too many local dive shop owners throwing mud at each other and complaining about how tough it is to pay the bills with a "lifestyle" job. |
