SCUBA DIVING :: FORUMS :: NEWS :: SANDALS SCUBA DIVING ACCIDENT

Sandals or Scandals?

OK, I agree with the comment that you're no better off diving with a small dive shop.  And yes, I sure do remember when Kelly's on the Bay - Aquanuts left two divers at sea and did not realize their mistake until the divers were found more than 24 hours later.  I also remember that a few weeks after that accident, Scuba Diving Magazine readers rewarded Kelly's on the Bay for nearly killing two people by naming them the best dive operator in Florida. The stupid leading the stupid I guess.

To their credit, Sandals fired the "professionals" who were unable to count to 13, but really, there is no excuse for leaving divers behind and I would think twice before diving with "Scandals" even if the diving is free.
