Do you think rebreathers are macho?  Unless you really need a rebreather or you have a death wish, forget about it.  Rebreathers are overpriced and prone to failure, which substantially increases the inherent risks of scuba diving.  Spend your money on traveling the world and diving the seven seas rather than fussing over a contraption that reduces your margin of error to almost zero.
