Tim D - AOW/Accountant Jan 14, 2006 at 16:38:22 It's typical scuba diving industry 'pocket the buck and pass the blame' starting with Ken Knezick of Island Dreams who was more than happy to pocket a hefty travel agent cut on a full boat charter but failed to inform the RDC that the Wave Dancer captain was young and inexperienced, and that Peter Hughes had no mandatory hurricane evacuation plan. If dive travel agents are too stupid or too greedy to inform their customers about important safety issues such as emergency preparedness, why pay them?  Book direct, reduce the cost of your trip by 10-20% (the typical travel agent commission) and ask a lot of 'what if' questions.  It's cheaper and it's a lot safer.
