It's always a gamble to be in the water during a storm...

Alexi Portillo - Belize City, Belize

This whole thing is sad. The first thing I said when I heard what had happened was what kind of idiocy was that to be in a boat in a Category 4 hurricane. I was in a concrete shelter in the capital and was worried even there. I believe that Mr. Hasson knew what he was talking about when he said he trusts staying onboard rather than on land in a storm from his 23 years experience. But this time, they lost big time. IT IS ALWAYS A GAMBLE TO BE IN THE WATER DURING A STORM. ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE TO RUN. ALSO, THEY HAD NO CONTIGENCY PLAN FOR THE WORST CASE SCENARIO, WHICH WAS WHAT ACTUALLY OCCURRED.
