Why help rich boat owners kill innocent people?...

Arnold Parker - Recreational Diver

How cynical Dick and how predictable--the old blame it on greedy lawyers nonsense. You're dead wrong to claim that Hughes acted prudently because he got away with it last time when you and your pals also partied on the boat. Twenty people died Dick. TWENTY. That's the worst dive boat accident in the entire history of the sport. And you want us to grieve a little and leave the investigation to whom exactly--Hughes?

Legal action is not an option here, it is a requirement if you believe in justice. And it is callous to refer to legal proceedings related to the deaths of 20 people as nothing more than attorneys getting rich. The family members have a right to know why their loved ones died. They have a right to justice.  They have a right to compensation for the loss of their loved ones if a court finds that Hughes and his staff were negligent.  The diving public also has a right to know why so many people died and what will be done to prevent it from happening again. On the other hand, I guess we could all just blame it on a phantom tornado and forget about it until the next phantom whatever suddenly appears and kills another 20 people.
