Donna, you can't see the forest for the trees...

I don't think anyone disputes the fact that the money will go to the families of the victims.  But as Tim Griffith points out, whatever they get from the Peter Hughes/DAN fund will be peanuts. The only place they will get either justice or real money is in court. Still, I could support the fund if DAN had set it up with the Richmond Dive Club or the families. But obviously, it is designed to make Peter Hughes look like a kind, caring person and discourage the families from suing.  Donna, if you could see the forest rather than just a few trees, you would understand that even though DAN and Hughes are old pals (what does DAN call their big corporate contributors--diamond sponsors?), they never should have agreed to administer a fund at the request of a company that is under investigation for negligence in the deaths of 20 people. DAN should have joined together with the Richmond Dive Club which, by the way, has its own divers-helping-divers fund.  That is the one you should contribute to--not the DAN dive industry fund corrupted by the suspect intentions of Peter Hughes.
