Drowning on a dive boat...

Craig Guinasso - Recreational Dive
November 7, 2001 at 12:46:51

I said this from day 1, If I were present on that boat (that night), I would have been sitting near an exit suited up in FULL DIVE GEAR. I can't argue criminal negligence or pure accident, but I can argue the cause of death....DROWNING!  It's beyond my realm of thought to be on a dive boat, with SCUBA gear, and not be ready for storm surge. How long would those tanks have lasted at that depth...nearly forever. Ok, not that long, but I argue long enough to get out alive.  I just don't understand why they didn't use all the tools they had at their disposal.  They'd have looked awfully funny in that Galley donned in gear, but at least they'd be alive to laugh.
