How about a fund for the Belizeans...

The DAN/Hughes Inc. fund sets an interesting precedent.  How about non-profit, public safety organizations helping tobacco companies collect money for the families of lung cancer victims? How about Greenpeace helping nuclear power companies to collect money for the families of victims of nuclear power accidents.

I sympathize with the families but I completely agree with Tim Griffith. The DAN/Peter Hughes fund is a calculated and cynical attempt to turn corporate greed and negligence into a charitable cause. A fund for all of the victims of Hurricane Iris including the thousands of Belizeans who lost everything?  YES. A fund to help a wealthy company (with a NO REFUNDS and a YOU CAN'T SUE AS FOR NEGLIGENCE policy) pay off the families of their victims. NO.
