We don't offer the course but most PADI dive shops do...

We also don't offer PADI Scuba Diver because it's a bad course.  But we're definitely the exception rather than the rule.  Most PADI dive shops will sell any PADI product no matter how bad it is because all most dive operators care about is money. If somebody doesn't have time to learn to dive, so what? Take their money.

Another thing many people don't understand is that PADI is basically a pyramid scheme that actually emphasizes quantity, despite PADI's loud boasting about its quality education system.  The more certifications, the higher you go in the pyramid.  And the higher you go in the pyramid, the more opportunities you have to make money. So some PADI instructors are processing two certifications - PADI Scuba Diver and PADI Open Water Diver - even though students only do the OW course.

Remember that when you hear PADI boasting about how many students go on to complete their Open Water training after doing the PADI Scuba Diver course.
