PADI should stop trying to expand the market by dumbing down courses...

As a PADI instructor, I agree that PADI should stop trying to expand the diving market by dumbing down entry level scuba courses.  Most of the time it doesn't matter but the problem is what happens when divers who can't do the basics get into trouble?  I agree with Cyber Diver that PADI is wrong to expect DMs and instructors to supervise people who can't dive and really shouldn't be diving in the "real world" until they get more training.
