Mike, Congratulations on your certification. Perhaps one way to think of certifications vs C-card would be that your certification represents the level of knowledge you've achieved, while your card is really just your "Ticket to ride."  You sound well grounded and ready to go.  Just try to remember that diving is an "experience" sport - and none of us will ever learn all the lessons the sea can throw at us. Dive safely.
