Attn Charles Marchegay: How about fun diving should be safe?...

It would be more correct to say that PADI made diving "easy", not "fun". By shamelessly targeting the immediate self-gratificational urges of typical consumers, they struck gold. The PADI Scuba Diver course is another step in that "easier is better" direction.

Easy courses deliver easy bucks and often extremely uneasy divers. More demanding courses can also be fun and better yet, fulfilling.  But who wants to go down the long road to fulfillment when you can take the short road to fun and instant (gee I'm a Scuba Diver now!!!) gratification?
