PADI is losing respect among experienced divers...

Sure all dive stores train people for a profit. Genarally, these owners got into the business because of their love of diving. Most have a genuine concern for their students and won't rush them thru a course if they can see they are not comfortable.

PADI seems to have been developing this "sheep dip" mentality for some years. Many divers completing a 6 day course by any agency, are not really "safe" divers should an emergency occur underwater: they lack experience..... how much less safe are these 2 day wonders? I was PADI trained 14 years ago by a concerned instructor...but lately I find a lack of respect for PADI operations developing amongst experienced divers. I share this feeling...
