Big business is more interested in market growth than diver safety...

I just completed my advanced open water and was amazed at some of the other students. I really don't understand how they could be in the same course.  One guy didnt even know how to put on his exposure suit correctly. On the boat dive, which was also a drift dive, we encountered one of the other students traveling up the current alone. He was tangled in seaweed and I had to cut him free. Later, on the boat he said that he didnt even realize that he had been trapped! I am not sure that a lot of the people with open water 2 are truly safe divers, let alone ones with a readers digest version of the class. It's sad to see big business more interested in getting more people into diving than making sure that the ones already in it are able to stay alive.
