July 22, 2007 at 10:08:48I was the last of only two journalists ever to interview SS Colonel Rauff in Chile before he died (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Bemister).
Having made extensive research about his career, I believe he sought to transport any looted treasure to Berlin or Switzerland from Tunis via Naples when his unit (SS-Security Police and Security Service Africa) was evacuated there in May 1943. The Corsica story may refer to other loot, but I doubt whether it was the proceeds from the Jewish community in Tunis.
