	The California Supreme Court did not throw out waivers... Jim Moss - Basic/Attorney July 18, 2007 at 19:40:24 The California Supreme Court did not throw out waivers. They like every other state in the US did not allow a waiver to stop a lawsuit for gross negligence.  Waivers are still good for regular or simple negligence. Successful gross negligence claims are rare, very rate so waivers are still going to be effective against 99.9 percent of the lawsuits in recreation and scuba.
