reported some comments that David Oliver has said about our shark attack. I find it hard to beleive, seeing that I was standing right next to David when he gave the interview, that anyone could even twist his statement around to what you reported in the article on your website! David's comments were appropriate for the situation, in stark contrast to your report on a "rapid response" plan to track the animal down and kill it attitude in your article. You should
be both ashamed and disgusted in yourselves for spreading a report like this, without any sympathy towards Jarrod's family and friends. I have had many of Jarrod's friends from Adeliade University upset today, very upset after seeing your article, and I have spent most of my day explaining to people that David did not say what you reported he said. The media circus that has surrounded this incident has been appalling, from cameras being shoved in these poor kids faces before they could even
get off their boat, to you people totally misrepresenting the facts Seems that this is the only "human ignorance" that I can see. |
