John, In the case of the Vandenberg, the vessel is simply so large that it has to be that deep. The wreck can not come within 40 feet of the surface without being considered a navigational hazard, and the Vandenberg is 100 feet tall at its highest point. The other thing to bear in mind is that the 140' depth limit is just that - the limit. There will actually be 11 moorings on this wreck that will be within basic openwater depth limits! Yes, advanced divers and techies will also be able to enjoy the same wreck. Come on down and check it out.
