November 28, 2007 at 18:05:51After reading just this news story's headline, I had goosebumps. I have seen the film 'Open Water,' and thought that since it was based off of a true story, it must have been 90% fabricated and 10% truth. However, after
reading this news story and seeing the picture of the couple that was abandoned off the Great Barrier Reef I realized that this story is not the first of its kind, nor (I'm sure) is it the last. I can only hope that through awareness and communication the safety of divers and the like can be ensured by boaters even before getting into the water. |
