In response to Barry G's tirade against Ty...Ryan Allen - OW/Writer-EditorMarch 20, 2004 at 20:17:34I'm very curious as to the motive behind Barry G's seemingly self-indulgent rant against Ty Sawyer.
I've worked with Ty extensively and consider him the best editor in the business - his integrity, professionalism and honesty are unquestionable. Barry G's baseless comment was ridiculous. If Ty's a "shameless fool" for anything, it's a strong dedication to great writing, unbelievable photography and raising the level of dive magazine quality to a place it has never been. And Sport Diver has been great lately because of his strong commitment to the sport of diving and his readership. Anyone saying otherwise does not read Sport Diver, does not know Ty, and obviously has a specious and personal agenda.
