July 18 at 14:38:53As a trained, degreed journalist who regularly reads the articles posted here and agrees with most of
the editorial content -- despite the sometimes blurring of the line between 'news' reportage and 'editorial' -- I strongly protest the use of this headline. There is not a single thing in the article about dive tourism as a primary cause of coral damage. The sidebar has it only as an add-on, with no citation regarding from where that piece of info comes. This kind of distortion removes credibility from the website and causes readers like me to regard any of the stuff I read here with much
greater skepticism -- or flee, never to return. And that's too bad as the sport, the planet and those who would protect both are desperately needed. |
