Don't be naughty Lucas...Curtis - Rescue Diver/SalesNovember 27, 2006 at 15:20:13Watch your emotional knee-jerks Lucas.
That's the second time you've allowed your emotions to get the better of you. Again, if you're trying to argue that BSAC is superior to PADI, it's a mistake to put them on the same page. As for your regrettable comment about the late Barbara McAlpin ("Evidently PADI fail to teaches divers that a safe dive starts with making it out of the pool first"), it makes me wonder why BSAC has any members left at all.
You are certainly not the type of person with whom most people (Andrew Collins notwithstanding) would wish to share their diving holidays. Apparently both Lesley Clark and Barbara McAlpin were experienced divers involved in training people to dive safely. They were both 47. They were both victims of tragic scuba-related accidents although neither one of them was actually breathing from a regulator when she died. The similarities end there.
The article about Lesley Clark's tragic death points straight at diver error, that is, a failure in pre-diving planning. The article about Barbara McAlpin's tragic death points to nothing except an autopsy and the possibility that she died from a pre-existing medical condition.
The results of that autopsy might answer your question, but that assumes you actually want to know why Barbara McAlpin died as opposed to exploiting her tragic death for your own amusement and your personal PADI-bashing agenda. |
