Lesley Clark might still be alive if she had learned to dive with PADI...

PADI's diver training system teaches us that every dive and every diver's responsibility for the safety of the dive starts with a critical assessment of conditions before donning one's scuba diving equipment.  With a thorough understanding of the existing conditions, one can exercise several options to enhance safety including changing the entry/exit plan or aborting the dive altogether.  Evidently BSAC fails to teach divers that a safe dive starts long before you actually get into the water and that scuba diving accidents such as the one that killed Lesley Clark can be avoided with safe dive planning and proper assessment of actual conditions, especially currents.
