You're right--BSAC train less poorly qualified divers than others...

You are absolutely correct - BSAC's membership is in decline. Diving is a growing sport, and one can only assume that some training schemes which involve less training – eg. one that you only need 9 dives to be "advanced" are quite attractive to new comers.

Thankfully BSAC is failing to turn out poorly trained divers at the same speed as some organisations.

BSAC is a club not a business, profits aren't the major driving force in it's training programs.
