If BSAC have it all wrong, why are their members involved in less fatalities?...

Lucas - BSAC Advanced/Retail

The BSAC report was recently described as "myopic". The only myopic view is that of the reader who considered that it contains only accidents.

The current report (2005, 2006 isn't available until Dec) contains 441 entries of which 17 fatalities.

The report contains more than just accidents. Nowhere does it claim to be the world statistic report. If BSAC have it all wrong in their alleged global pursuit of dominance, BSAC members can rest assured that their fellow members are involved in less UK fatalities than other divers.

Who cares whether it's an accident report or incident report - it's a report which some may find useful. If you don't value the content then don't read it.

If it saves one life then it's worth it.

Safe diving to all, Lucas (A tea drinking, limey.)
