Decompression sickness and lung embolisms are not 'regional' threats...

In the internet era, it is indeed puzzling as to why BSAC and DAN continue to serve up their little nationalistic snapshots of scuba diving accidents (aka "incidents" in BSAC and DAN reports).  On the one hand they trumpet the reach of their international organizations -- "no matter where you go, we're there to help you" -- but somehow they just can't manage to collect accident reports from that same international organization of regional affiliates.  What's the problem? Would it not be fair to assume that BSAC and DAN's regional reports are actually meant to conceal the number of annual scuba diving fatalities and injuries in order to grow the industry, sell more diving insurance and increase membership?
