Sad story - this kind of tragedy affects everyone...Brian - Open water 1(NAUI and PADI)/ex-commercial diver September 20, 2007 at 11:15:20It is a sad time for the family of this diver and also for the many of professionals that worked with him. When you are a standby diver, you try not to think
that someday you might be going after a coworker/friend, but rehearse what you will do every time you put your hat on standby. When you are a supervisor, you try not think of how quickly a routine dive job can go horribly wrong, but you have to plan ahead so you can react quickly in times of crisis. As an ex-commercial diver that worked for this company, I know that even though every job is meticulously planned and the personnel are very serious when it comes to safety, accidents are going to
happen and you hope it isn't your turn in the rotation when they do occur. I'm sorry it happened to you, guys. |
