Gabe Watson is a murderer...

I dive. The articles have mentioned the depth, but it should be focused upon. The depth is a key piece of evidence in this crime. 45 feet is shallow for an experienced diver and VERY shallow for a rescue diver. If Gabe Watson didn't murder her, there is NO WAY that he would have felt at risk AT ALL by following her down to the safe and shallow depth of 45 feet. At 45 feet he had probably 30-45 minutes (an expert could tell you, but it was PLENTY of time) to swim around without even raising a concern about his depth or bottom time. In other words he could safely swim to the bottom without any danger to himself AT ALL.

When I first read the article I thought perhaps she quickly dropped and he didn't see her til she was 150 feet down (or some other deeper, extremely risky life threatening depth -- I've heard that there is very little chance of coming up from 300 feet without dying, but I'm not an expert on that). But at 45 feet? This is the equivalent of his wife being in the shallow 2 foot end of the kiddie pool, and instead of just simply reaching out and lifting up her head, he instead walked calmly to the lifeguard and asked for help. COME ON. 45 feet for a scuba dive is NOTHING! I've swam around at 45-60 feet for over 20 minutes! and I stayed at 100 feet for 5 minutes on a completely safe planned dive with a professional dive shop.

They were also at the beginning of their dive, and a dive like this normally goes for what 45 minutes at that shallow depth? This depth is appropriate for relative novices. Also an experienced diver can get a mask filled with air and replaced in less than a minute, the skill is required in basic diver certification. A trained rescue diver ABSOLUTELY can get a mask back on in shorter time. From 45 feet in a panic with no air a diver can be on the surface (and possibly fatally bent, but hey, better than no air!) within seconds.

His behavior was so unreasonable as to be unbelievable. Divers do not even 'embrace' because they could easily get tangled and stuck or catch a weight belt on someone else, all divers know that. Ask an expert, they have never, ever seen divers embrace more than just on the arm when underwater in full gear. Also dive buddies do NOT SWIM IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS EVER, they need to be close together (5-15 (?) feet for a novice like this) for safety, and he knew that.

Arrest him and prosecute this murderer.
