JJ - Instructor / Commercial Diver December 20, 2007 at 11:54:06 Any school that promises a job after graduation is a scam and that is border line fraud. Private dive schools are for profit and will tell you everything you want to hear. Some are good like College of Oceaneering, The Ocean Corp. etc. The diving itself is the least most important part of a commercial divers career. Anybody can put on a Superlite and dive down. Can you burn, or weld? Can you work long hours in zero viz? Is your back strong? Before you go to dive school, take as many voc ed courses as you can, plumbing, welding, burning, metal shop etc. Com Div is a blue collar, hands on job.
