We were aboard the Galapagos Aggressor II May 12-19, 2005. Our group of 14 filled the boat. We were all ectastic about the amenities on the boat and, above all, the service the crew gave us. We were all experienced divers with past trips all over the Caribbean, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. To a person, we all declared this to have been our best trip ever!
The boat was very clean, the cabins were quite comfortable--everything was exactly as advertised except for the missing hot tub. I was especially impressed by the diving safety precautions taken. Each diver was issued a safety flag (their version of the "safety sausage", a Dive Alert air horn and an EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) in the event we were separated during the drift dives. (Fortunately, no one had to use their EPIRB.) Each zodiac from which we dived had a small DAN O2 kit with a larger unit on the ship. They also had an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) onboard. We were shown where all of these were kept and offered instruction on their use. The crew was very professional in all respects and went out of their way to see that all passengers were having a great time and were comfortable.
Before departing, we picked up brochures for other Aggressor trips and will not hesitate to consider booking another trip with this fleet. We recognize that each boat is individually owned and operated, but are optimistic that public opinion and market demand has encouraged them all to aim for the same high standards.
