I have some grave concerns about 3 Aggressor divers missing within 3 months of each other, and Wayne Hasson saying it was, essentially, diver error. Too conicidental for me.
I was on the Kona Aggressor in February 2003 when one of our divers failed to surface after a dive. He has been declared as deceased, even though no trace was ever found of him.
One of the main problems was that this man was using a closed circuit rebreather, and was solo diver certified. The tragedy stopped our diving, and the Kona boat stayed at the dive site, with building weather problems, to assist with resupplying the rescue divers with air, and to relay radio messages to shore.
However, I have had difficulty with (specifically) Wayne Hasson and Jerry Schnabel, who was the captain on the Belize Aggressor in early 2002. I felt at that time that safety was not a concern for the Belize Aggressor, or the Aggressor fleet, and conveyed my opinions to Wayne Hasson, with some very beligerant comments on his part. I feel he is less than truthful, and safety is not his primary concern.
I will, however, say that I have the utmost respect for the Live/Dive Pacific Aggressors (Truk, Palau, Fiji, Kona and Tahiti). They ARE safety concious, and it is of a primary concern to Dan Ruth, the person in charge of the Live/Dive operation.
Wayne Hasson should NOT advertise a charter on the Fiji Aggressor this winter "with Wayne Hasson"...someone might be tempted to make him into fish food!
